Since I haven't done this in awhile, I thought today I'd lay out a couple of things I would do if I was Editor In Chief of Marvel. The first would be that when they show a crowd scene at a nightclub or bar or whatever, somewhere in the background there would be a Madrox dupe. I think this would be a fun idea and a neat little Where's Waldo type gag running through all the Marvel books.
Next I would create a Marvel Team-Up book that each month would focus on a completely different team (I've already listed some of my favorite ideas for one in previous posts) and finally, I would have a series devoted to the misadventures of Wolfsbane and Husk. I really think this would make for an awesome series especially considering both gals' connection to Cannonball.
Oh, something that I would do if I ever got to write a Spider-Man book, every couple of issues I would tease that the next book would be the one where Spidey gets married.

He's a Lobster... With a mission
Lately, I decided to read the Fallen Angels comics I picked up at last years Comic Fest (2010) and I actually enjoyed it quite a lot. Not, because it's a great comic because it's actually pretty bad, but more because of the Nacho levels of cheese in the book. For those of you that aren't in the know, Fallen Angels is a miniseries from 1986 that follows Roberto DeCosta(Sunspot) after he injures Sam Gutherie(Cannonball) while the New Mutants play a soccer match. Sunspot runs away and Warlock follows, with them missing Magneto calls Moira to help him run the Xavier School For Gifted Youngsters and she brings Siryn and Madrox (whom volunteer to go into New York City to find Roberto).
While in the city Roberto attempts to rescue a girl named Chance he sees being accosted by some street toughs. We are then introduced to Chance's friend Ariel (who has an ability similar to Gateway's powers) and of course, the character(s) besides Devil Dinosaur that gives this series its cheesy goodness, is Gomi(which apparently means garbage in Japanese)and his mutant cyborg lobster friends Bill and Don. As I may have mentioned on here one of the things I love about comics is the ludicrousness that can only work in this medium and Gomi, Bill and, Don are a perfect example of this.
Gomi is a teenage cyborg whose cousin (literally) filled his head with cybernetic components in the hopes of recreating Marvel Girl's (Jean Grey) powers because he and his partner in crime had a huge crush on her and hoped they could make a fortune selling the cybernetic implants to the public. However then run out of money and the implants don't quite work as they should. The pair of would-be mad scientists decide their plan is a bust they decide to eat the lobsters and possibly Gomi as well. Luckily, Gomi and the lobsters are able to escape and and meet up with Ariel, Chance and their fearless(lmfao) leader The Vanisher, whom vanishes whenever there is trouble or a fight and has named their group of pickpockets the Fallen Angels.
Because, of Warlock and Sunspot saving her Chance asks them to join their team they do and after they find them Siryn and Madrox decide to join the team because why the hell not. It's not like they are starring in any comics at this time. Then Ariel and Chance decide they should rescue their former teammate Boom-Boom (Tabitha Smith) from those mutant hunters X-Factor (back when it was the original 5 X-Men). This works out for Tabitha since Beast and Iceman are kinda pissed that has just made a table with one of Beast's experiments on it explode, using her little time bomby things. Then a trip to the planet or dimension or whatever Moon Boy and Devil Dinosaur live in and the team is complete. Consisting of Sunspot, Warlock, Madrox, Siryn, Boom-Boom, Moon Boy, Devil Dinosaur, The Vanisher, Chance, Ariel, Gomi, Bill and last but not least Don. Earning this team the distinction of being one of the most random teams in comics.
Right around the time they get all the members together, the Vanisher tells them to go "foraging" for food and/or money. While doing this they run into a rogue Madrox dupe and Devil Dinosaur accidentally steps on and kills Bill the mutant cyborg lobster (man, I enjoy using that phrase). Which creates the subplot of Don wanting revenge on Devil Dinosaur for killing his best friend, and the rest of the team trying to convince him that although, he may be a cyborg lobster that it would be awfully dumb of him to try and attack a mutant T-Rex. Soon, Ariel invites the team to come hang out on planet(?) Coconut Grove. The team figures sure why not and follows her there. After the people of Coconut Grove forcibly give the team makeovers they reveal why Ariel was sent to Earth to seek out mutants. It turns out there hasn't been a mutation on Coconut Grove in millions of years and they need the DNA of the Mutants that Ariel has collected in order to help them evolve and mutate, oh and it also turns out much to their protesting through out the issue that both Ariel and Chance are mutants. Turns out Chance has the mutant power to augment or nullify the powers of other mutants depending on the demands of the script and Ariel can manipulate people with her voice.
Well, the folks of Coconut Grove capture the Fallen Angels (except for Boom-Boom and Don). They then take Madrox and Sunspot away to experiment on and extract their mutant gene. Don initially comes in only wanting to rescue Gomi. But, after a rousing speech about forgiveness, Don decides to help free all of the Fallen Angels even including Devil Dinosaur. After beating up the guards and taking their keys Don manages to free the others. Then the go off in order to save Roberto and Jamie. They do so, and after returning to their hideout at Beat Street, Warlock and Sunspot decide to go back and rejoin the New Mutants, while Madrox and Siryn decide to continue with the Fallen Angels and thus ends the book.

X-Factor: The Movie (casting call)
A couple of posts ago, I wrote up how much I think James Roday of Psych fame should play Jamie Madrox in a movie and thinking it over I thought it would be fun (since I haven't done it in a while). To put together a list of who I'd cast if they ever made an X-Factor movie. This the X-Factor from the Madrox miniseries up to issue #35or so.
Jamie Madrox/Multiple Man - James Roday, since I already wrote a previous blog about this choice I won't go into much detail other than saying I think he would make a perfect Jamie.
Guido Carosella/Strong Guy - Ethan Suplee. Even though he's not Italian I think Ethan would make a great Strong Guy. Just make him 7 feet tall with some special FX magic and let him do his thing like he did in Mallrats and My Name is Earl and I think it would be like when they cast Hugh Jackman as Wolverine.
Monet St. Croix/M - Zoe Saldana. Besides her action chops in movies like Star Trek and Avatar. She is beautiful enough to pull off the Veronica Lodge aspects of M's personality while remaining believable that she could kick every one's ass, while painting her nails.
Theresa Rourke Cassidey/Siryn - Isla Fisher. Even though she's not Irish and has mostly done comedies. I think she has the looks and the wit to play the live action incarnation of Banshee's Daughter. Especially with her slightly unhinged character in The Wedding Crashers.
Rahne Sinclear/Wolfsbane - Rachel Nichols. Even though I thought G.I. Joe was a terrible, terrible movie and she's not Scottish. I thought she was pretty good in it. But, what really makes me think she would make a good Wolfsbane is her role as the Orion cadet in Star Trek.
Julio Esteban Richter/Rictor - Gael Garcia Bernal. With his roles as Che Guevara in Fidel and The Motorcycle Daries. I feel he would make a good fit as the "powerless" Rictor.
Pietro Maximoff/Quicksilver - Cary Elwes. Much like Paul Rudd he has that perfect ability of being able to play a complete jerkass while still remaining likable. This is probably the biggest hurdle in finding an actor to play Pietro. In order to play the son of Magneto, who have to have an actor that can say terrible horrible things but still have the audience kinda like him and maybe even root for him a little bit and I think Mr. Elwes fits this to a T.
Layla Miller - Chloe Moretz. With her up coming role as Hit_Girl in Kick Ass and her kinda creepy looks (plus her age). I think she would do a really cool job as the girl who knows stuff.

He may not have psychic powers, but kenetic powers...
Even though, its on hiatus at the moment. Every time I watch Psych, one thing is made abundantly clear... The star James Roday would be perfect if they ever make an X-Factor movie or any other kind of X-Film with Multiple Man in a large role. Seeing his Hi-jinx as Shawn Spencer week after week makes me think of the awesomeness of having a scene with 5 or 10 of him having an argument over how played the leader of the Cobra Kai's in Karate Kid, or whether or not Humphrey Bogart actually said, "Play it again, Sam." In Casablanca.

With Our Powers Combined...
So, this week I've been re-playing the first Marvel Ultimate Alliance and though I enjoy the game. There are quite a few characters I wish this or the sequel would have made playable and that is what I would like to talk about to day. Which means another list (WOO-HOO!!). For those of you who haven't been here before. I'm a cat that really enjoys make lists. If I can find any excuse to make up a list you better believe I will use it. With that said here is a list of the character I think they should use as playable characters if (or when) the do a third Marvel Ultimate Alliance.
Firestar - Mainly, so I can form a Spiderman and his Amazing Friends team. Since both Spiderman and Iceman have been playable since the first one I think it's only fair to include Firestar in the next one.
Madrox - Granted both him and Firestar are bosses in the second Marvel Alliance game its just not the same and actually, I think it would be great if they included a bunch of X-Factor characters. Including (besides Jamie, Natch); M, Wolfsbane, Strong Guy,Siryn, Beast and, Havok. Plus, it would be fun to have an all Madri team. lol
Jubilee - Because, I love her and think she should be in all things Marvel.
The New Mutants - Or at least Cannonball, Magick, Sunspot and, Warlock (since, I already include Rahne in the X-Factor list).
Kitty Pryde - I'm actually kinda shocked she wasn't in any of the games yet.
Cloak and Dagger - They've had bit part and stuff but making them playable would be so awesome.
Hank Pym - really any of his personae would work.
Well, that's the list. Looking back its a bit mutant heavy but what can I say. I'm a mutie lover. After all if it wasn't for the X-books I would've proably stopped reading Marvel all together years ago and this is my site after all. Agree/Disagree drop my a line about your picks. Jay's X-Men Team
On Friday I listed what I think would be the best Justice League team ever. So, to start off the week I thought it would be a hoot to list off the best X-Men team. Plus I didn't want it to seem like I only read DC since I have been doing a lot of posts on the Distinguished Competition. So, without further adieu. Here's my X-Men team:
Multiple Man (Jamie Madrox) ~ Besides the fact that he can be his own task force. The last couple of years of X-Factor has shown him grow as a leader and I think he would rock leading the X-Men.
Nightcrawler ~ You really can't have a proper X-Men team without him plus with his teleportation powers he can always get you out of a plot quickly.
Wolverine~ Again it's not really an X-Men team without him.
Colossus ~ Since, you need a heavy hitter and there is no heavier hitter than the mighty Colossus he's on the team.
Wolfsbane (Rahne Sinclair) ~ I always thought she was the New Mutant most deserving of a spot on the team. So, I'm drafting her.
Jubilee ~ Pure nepotism. I love Jubes and it's my team so there :P
Rogue ~ Just because it would be so cool I would give her back Ms. Marvel's powers so she can fly and punch tanks.
Gambit ~ Since, Rogue's on the team he kind of has to be there. Plus a guy that makes things explode is always cool.
Iceman ~ Just for the old school factor and the fact that I'm a big fan of Spider-Man and his Amazing Friends.
Beast ~ 'Cuz brainy scientist guy is a must on any team.
Siryn ~ Since I need another flyer and her dad hasn't been brought back to life,yet. She's on the team. Also, I'm a big fan of all the drama that comes from her and Jamie's past and present,lol.
Well, there you go that's my X-tremely Awesome X-team (sorry, I just couldn't help using a pun that made the books what they are today,lol).

By the power of Grabthar's Hammer
I though it woulld be fun today to make a list of the superheroes with the most useful powers. Just so everyone understands when I say useful I don't mean fighting skills or any of that I mean useful in normal everyday life. So, with that little pre-amble: Away we go.
Jamie Madrox (Multiple Man) - Jamie has what I think would be the most useful power in the world he can create duplicates of himself through kinetic energy. Using his powers you'd finally has time to get everything done.
Bobby Drake (Iceman) - This one would be great for parties or hot days or whatever. Bobby has the ability to create ice from the moisture in the air. This guy would be awesome to have around on margerita night.
Doug Ramsey (Cypher) - He can instantly understand any new language he hears. This power would be like 8 shades of awesome to have.
Kurt Wagner (Nightcrawler) - He can teleport through dimensions in order to go from one place to another. Using this power he can travel miles in a matter of seconds (he also gets bonus points for having a prehensile tail).
Peter Parker (Spiderman) - He can climb walls and stick to the ceiling and of course, his most useful power for everyday living has got to be his Spidey sense.
Kitty Pryde - She can walk through walls. Do I need to add anythign else?
James Howlett?/Logan (Wolverine) - His actual pwer would be pretty damn useful. Being able to regenerate any damaged body tissue, if for no other reason you could drink and smoke all you want and not have to worry about damaging your liver or lungs.
Hal Jordan/ John Stewart/ Guy Gardner/ Kyle Rayner (Green Lantern) - Having a Green Lantern power ring would make life so easy, that I have no clue why at least one of these guys is not 800 pounds. The ring can project any thing you can imagine and it can make you fly.
Any of the many telepaths in any comic - the ability to know what anyone is thinking, this would be such a handy power.
Warren Worthington III (Angel/Archangel) - The guy has freakin' bird wings!
and an honorible mention goes out to Jubilee her pwers wouldn't be very useful in the real world (much like in the Marvel Universe,lol) but, she would definitely be someone who would make any party kick ass.
